Jorge Castro commented on the recent announcement by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) that it will eliminate 296 regulations from the tax code, following President Trump's 2017 executive order to review existing tax regulations and eliminate those deemed obsolete. "IRS and Treasury deserve a lot of credit for finalizing these regulations and getting it over the finish line," said Castro, a former Counselor to the IRS Commissioner. "Cleaning up the tax code is never easy, and being able to remove and clarify almost 300 tax regulations is no easy feat."
