Dana Watts Comments on Canada's First Shipment Seizure Over Forced Labor Suspicions
"Canada Seizes First Shipment Over Forced-Labor Suspicions"
Dana Watts commented on the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) seizure of a shipment of women's and children's clothing from China, which was suspected of being manufactured using forced labor. This was the first time that authorities have enforced a rule that prohibits the importation of goods made from modern slavery. The blocked shipment is a "very big deal," Watts said, adding that "While many countries have official policies against forced labor, few have actual laws against the importation of goods made with forced labor."
