Alejandra Montenegro Almonte Named to Global Investigations Review Women in Investigations 2021

Washington, DC, May 18, 2021 – Miller & Chevalier Chartered today announced that Alejandra Montenegro Almonte, Member and Vice Chair of the firm's International practice area, was named to the Global Investigations Review (GIR) Women in Investigations 2021 list. According to GIR, the list "highlights 100 exceptional women in the white-collar world."

GIR selected individuals following an open nomination process. Once selected, nominees were interviewed about their professional paths, important career moments, challenges and successes as investigations specialists. "As a woman of colour, I have sometimes been underestimated by those working across the table from me, especially in the earlier years of my practice," Montenegro Almonte told GIR. "I learned early on, however, not to take offence, but rather to be emboldened and uncompromising in who I am. I have been able to use the underestimation of others to my advantage, remaining focused on the work at hand, and oftentimes surprising those who questioned my capabilities with my success and the results of my hard work."
