Russian Government Enacts Rules Exempting Companies from Bribery Liability

In this article, Maryna Kavaleuskaya reviewed new amendments to the Russian Code on Administrative Offences. The amendments address bribery by legal entities, exempting companies from liability if they assist authorities in uncovering and investigating misconduct. "While it is too early to evaluate the practical impact of these regulatory changes," Kavaleuskaya wrote, "companies operating in Russia now have a stronger incentive to report bribery by employees and should focus on ensuring that their anti-corruption compliance programs and approaches reflect these regulatory changes."
