Austin, TX

Theresa S. Gee and Erin M. Sweeney* will present during the American Bar Association's 2017 Midwinter Meeting of the Section of Labor and Employment Law's Employee Benefits Committee on February 8-11, 2017. Gee will present, as part of a panel, "Fiduciary Litigation Pastiche" on February 8. The panel will address how the Church Plan cases fare if they meet a higher authority like the Supreme Court, are cases involving publicly traded employer stock litigation the walking dead, and everything else that you always wanted to know about fiduciary insurance but were afraid to ask a carrier. Sweeney will present, as part of a panel, "DOL's Conflict of Interest Rule and Related Exemptions: The Litigation Challenges and Next Steps," also on February 8. This panel will provide an analysis about the Rule, the exemptions, the litigation challenges, and what is on the horizon as certain aspects of the Rule are set to become effective in April 2017.
