Recruiting  Associates  Benefits & Compensation
Associate compensation and benefits are competitive with that of other major Washington, D.C.-based law firms. Compensation is reviewed in the fall with adjustments effective the following January 1. Compensation is usually equivalent for associates in the same law school class year. Other compensation includes a $6,000 bar stipend for new graduates, a $10,000 bonus for judicial clerks, and reimbursement of up to $5,000 for relocation expenses. Associates may also receive merit bonuses based on a combination of objective and subjective factors.

Attorneys who join Miller & Chevalier upon graduation can be considered for membership after eight years at the firm. To allow for some flexibility in the decision-making process (for both the firm and the attorney), associates may be considered subsequently over the next three years.
