Women in International Trade Event on Export Controls Reform

12.13.12
Location: Washington, D.C.

The current Export Control Reform initiative undertakes to overhaul the control lists and other regulations issued by the multiple federal agencies involved, aiming to strengthen and simplify the overall system. The seminar will focus on the revision of the two control lists, the role of the Congressional oversight committees, and the national security benefits to clearer control lists.

The panel will also discuss what the Export Control Reform process seeks to accomplish more broadly (the "four singularities": single licensing agency, single control list, single IT platform, single enforcement center), how far it has progressed, and the various roles of Congress in the reform effort.

Larry Christensen will participate in this panel discussion.
