Linda E. Carlisle and Michael M. Lloyd will be speaking at the Practising Law Institute's (PLI's) Basics of International Taxation 2016 seminar on September 19-20, 2016. Carlisle, who is co-chair of the seminar, will co-present the introduction and opening remarks and she will be on a panel titled "Overview of U.S. International Tax System." Panelists will cover the following topics: worldwide taxation, residence, effect of choice of entity, deferral, sourcing, foreign currency and permanent establishment. Lloyd will present, as part of a panel, "Cross-Border Services and Employment Tax Issues." Panelists will discuss the following topics: U.S. tax rules applicable to U.S. individuals who work outside the United States, including the section 911 exclusion and sourcing rules, U.S. and foreign tax consequences to U.S. employers that have employees both inside and outside the United States, tax treaties and reporting requirements.
