Rocco V. Femia, Erin M. Sweeney and Andrew C. Strelka will be speaking at the ABA Section of Taxation 2015 Midyear Meeting on Friday January 30, 2015 at the Hilton Americas in Houston, TX.
Femia will moderate a panel titled "Unresolved Issues in U.S. International Tax," which will discuss unresolved international tax issues in a number of areas, including issues arising under subpart F, the foreign tax credit and international restructuring.
As chair of the Subcommittee on Fiduciary Responsibility, Sweeney will present, as part of a panel, "Employee Benefits Litigation Update," which will discuss recent ERISA litigation cases. She will also present, as part of a panel, "Employee Benefits Fiduciary Responsibilities Update," which will discuss guidance issued addressing ERISA fiduciary responsibilities.
Strelka will present as part of a panel, "You've Been Served: Handling IRS Summonses in Audits and Tax Litigation," which will discuss the IRS's new LB&I IDR and summons policies including complying with the new rules. In addition, the panel will discuss defending summonses, filing a motion to quash and other aspects of summons enforcement in tax controversies.
