Washington, D.C., September 30, 2008 - Miller & Chevalier Chartered today announced that Anthony J. Trenga, a former chair of the firm's Litigation Department, has been confirmed as a judge on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

On September 26, the U.S. Senate unanimously confirmed Trenga for federal judgeship. The nomination was co-sponsored by Senators John Warner (R-Va.) and Jim Webb (D-Va.). Trenga's legal career spans more than 30 years, including serving as counsel in more than 50 cases before the federal court in the Eastern District of Virginia.

"Tony has been a superb lawyer and a great leader while at Miller & Chevalier," said Marianna Dyson , Chair of Miller & Chevalier. "We know that he will be an outstanding addition to the judiciary and congratulate him on his appointment to this prestigious court."
