Washington, D.C., August 8, 2011 – Miller & Chevalier Chartered today announced that Barry J. Pollack, a Member in the firm's White Collar and Internal Investigations Practice, has been elected as Secretary of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL). He was sworn in at the Association’s recent Annual Meeting in Denver on August 6.
The NACDL strives to advance the mission of the criminal defense bar to ensure justice and due process for persons accused of crime or wrongdoing. Founded in 1958, the NACDL is a professional bar association with 10,000 direct members and 90 state, local, and international affiliate organizations totaling 40,000 members. NACDL’s members include private criminal defense lawyers, public defenders, military defense counsel, law professors, and judges committed to preserving fairness and promoting a rational and humane criminal justice system.
Mr. Pollack has previously served as Parliamentarian for the NACDL and as a member of its Board of Directors, as well as chair of its White Collar Crime Committee.
Mr. Pollack also currently serves as president of the Board of the Mid-Atlantic Innocence Project and is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
