Barry Pollack Quoted on Stanford Sentencing in the San Francisco Chronicle

"Stanford Gets 110-Year Sentence for $7 Billion Ponzi Scheme"
San Francisco Chronicle
06.14.12Barry Pollack comments on the 110-year sentence handed down to R. Allen Stanford, who was found guilty of leading a $7 billion international fraud. Stanford was also ordered to forfeit $5.9 billion. "A triple-digit, eye-popping sentence might make for good headlines but it does not make any sense whatsoever in terms of sound sentencing policies," said Pollack. "I would much rather see sentences that are crafted to fit the actual facts and circumstances of the individual case than use sentencing as a mouthpiece to voice public anger."
