James Tillen Comments on 2012 Latin America Corruption Survey in the Wall Street Journal

“Latin America Survey Finds Gaps in Corporate Anti-Corruption Measures"
The Wall Street Journal
06.14.12James Tillen comments on Miller & Chevalier's 2012 Latin America Corruption Survey, the results of which provide a detailed snapshot of the corruption landscape within the region.  "So many companies are simply relying on the number from Transparency International,” Tillen said.  “This is our effort to dig behind that number and provide some more details and context to help compliance personnel in their risk-based programs."  A valuable part of the survey for compliance personnel is the study of institutions within the countries, he said, citing the police in Mexico and customs in Venezuela as being potential corruption flashpoints.
