Barry Pollack Comments on Possible White Collar Investigations Resulting from the Financial Crisis in the Conference Board Review

"It Could Happen To You"
The Conference Board Review
04.13.11Barry Pollack discusses the possibility of prosecutions of corporate executives stemming from the financial crisis. "I certainly think there will be high-profile white collar criminal investigations and prosecutions that come down the pike in the next couple of years," says Pollack. He believes the government has been slowed by the fact that it lost its first and only criminal case based on alleged Wall Street crimes, the trial of two former Bear Stearns hedge-fund managers. "I think the reason we haven't to date seen a lot of prosecutions of high-level individuals related to the Wall Street meltdown is because the Justice Department has recognized that while there are systemic problems here, there may not be criminality," Pollack says.
