11.12.09Barry Pollack comments on the overturning of Fernando Bermudez’s 1992 murder conviction, for which he has served 18 years in prison. In New York State Supreme Court Justice Cataldo’s ruling, he not only overturned the conviction, but also went further to dismiss the charges altogether. Short of a reversal by an appellate court, prosecutors cannot retry Mr. Bermudez for the crime, Pollack said.
