Steve Dixon Discusses the Potential Repercussions of the Wells Fargo Decision in Bloomberg

"Wells Fargo's Partial Tax Victory May Spur Billions in Refunds"

Steve Dixon discussed the Federal Circuit decision in Wells Fargo & Co. v. United States in regard to interest netting and overlapping payments. Though the decision did not find in favor of the taxpayer on all counts, the article contends that the decision provides companies that have grown through merger activity wider access to refunds from the tax treatment of the companies they acquired. Speaking more generally about the extent of interest-netting claims, Dixon said that "there are big claims out there, and it’s real money."

Dixon's comments also appeared in articles on July 6-7, 2016, in BNA Bank Daily, the Chicago Tribune and The Salt Lake Tribune.
