"On 11th Try, Man Convicted in ’91 Killing Gets Hearing"
The New York Times
08.13.09Barry Pollack comments on the new hearing granted to Fernando Bermudez, who was convicted of a 1991 murder based on testimony that has since been recanted or found to be false. The September 1st hearing could signify an extraordinary turning point in an 18-year effort to clear Mr. Bermudez’s name and overturn his conviction. “The facts keep getting stronger and stronger,” said Pollack, lead counsel for Mr. Bermudez, “and the conviction keeps getting weaker and weaker.”
