09.17.13Barry Pollack is quoted regarding the decision of some IRS officials to hire high-profile white collar lawyers to defend them in ongoing investigations regarding the alleged targeting of certain Tea Party organizations in their applications for tax-exempt status. The article notes that the former IRS commissioner for tax-exempt and government entities has retained Pollack, whose clients have included WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and Enron's former broadband finance chief, Kevin Howard. "Anybody who has held high-level positions in the government and knows Washington understands that you want to take congressional inquiries seriously and you want to make sure that you have somebody who is experienced to guide you," Pollack said.
