Barry Pollack Discusses the Bradley Manning Trial on CNN's The Lead with Jake Tapper

"Julian Assange:  Manning is a Hero"
The Lead with Jake Tapper
07.29.13Barry Pollack joined his client, WikiLeaks Founder Julian Assange, on CNN's The Lead with Jake Tapper to discuss Pfc. Bradley Manning's trial and how it relates to Assange. Pfc. Manning is awaiting a verdict on charges he aided the enemy for allegedly providing classified documents to WikiLeaks. "I am certain that Julian is at tremendous legal risk here in the United States," Pollack said. "If you look at the Bradley Manning prosecution, he had already plead guilty to leaking classified information. That wasn't enough for the U.S. government. They want to treat him as a traitor; they want to say that he is the enemy, because he gave somebody truthful information to publish, and anybody can read that information." Asked how this approach may affect any charges brought against his client, Pollack said, "If you're at risk for life imprisonment as the person who leaks the information, think what the government thinks of you as the person who publishes the information."
